Engineers. No account managers.
Snowl Labs is a small team. The person who answers your email is one of the engineers who build your project.
More than a decade between us across data analytics, machine learning, R&D, and software development. The through-line has been messy data — the kind that comes out of systems built by different people at different times for different reasons, where the interesting answer is buried under a decade of inconsistent entry. That, and explaining what the data turned out to say to owners and operators who do not write code and should not have to. Based in Arizona. Serving clients nationwide, remote-first.
How We Work
You get the real answer
Including when it is not the one you were hoping for. If the thing you paid for should be switched off, we will say so in writing. A consultant who only ever agrees with you is not worth the invoice.
Plain English, no jargon tax
Most of our work ends in a conversation with someone who is not technical and has to make a decision anyway. Explaining it clearly is the job, not a favor at the end of it.
Fixed price where we can quote one
Where we have done enough of a kind of work to know what it takes, we quote one fixed price. Where we genuinely cannot predict the scope, we will say that instead of pretending.
The simplest thing that works
A model nobody maintains is worse than a spreadsheet somebody does. We default to the least complicated approach that answers the question, because that is the one still running in two years.
You own what we build
Code, models, documentation, and the reasoning behind the decisions. Nothing is structured so that you have to keep paying us to keep using it.
We tell you when to stop
Some questions are not worth what it costs to answer them, and some data cannot support the thing you want built. Finding that out early is a result, not a failure.
Why This Exists
It is almost never the model
Across more than a decade of data and ML work, the same failures repeated themselves. The algorithm was fine. The data feeding it was a mess, or the system was never properly integrated, or nobody agreed in advance what success would look like. The build was rarely the problem. The groundwork was.
Nobody was auditing any of it
Then came two years of companies buying AI tools quickly. Plenty of firms will sell you an implementation. Very few will look at one you already have and tell you honestly whether it is working, because the honest answer is sometimes that it is not, and that is a bad way to sell a rebuild.
Snowl Labs
Set up to do the unglamorous half: audit what was built, investigate the data underneath it, fix what is broken, and build the thing properly when building is genuinely the right call. Based in Arizona. Serving clients nationwide, remote-first.
